Wokingham Borough Council
£67,214 to £74,216 p.a.
Wokingham Borough Council, Shute End, Wokingham, Berkshire
26/03/2018 at 12:00 PM
About the role
Wokingham is a highly ambitious council, with a strong reputation. We are a lean council with the smallest number of employees per resident. Taking a collaborative approach, Wokingham works in partnership with its communities and stakeholders, and is aiming to develop a partnership borough plan by October.
The council has invested in a major transformation programme - positioning it in the best possible way to tackle the future challenges of local government in the 21st Century.
As part of our transformation, our Strategy and Commissioning Service has recently been restructured to deliver a more integrated approach to commissioning both people and place services. This now creates synergies which support the corporate vision and its wider priorities.
This is both an exciting and ideal time for you to join us as you will play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding the new operating model. You will ensure that staff are fully supported, engaged and developed, secure innovation and high quality delivery in commissioned services and sustain lasting partnerships with key stakeholders.
You will find you will have ample opportunity to make your mark, as well as hone your professional skill set across the breadth of adult, children and health services at a strategic level. You will also influence the wider commissioning strategy for the authority, alongside our AD Place Commissioning, and help shape corporate strategy.
This is an exciting and influential role. You will find Wokingham is a great Council to work for – forward thinking with a highly supportive, friendly culture and where things happen at pace.
To be considered for the role you must have extensive senior management and leadership experience in strategic commissioning, probably gained in the public sector. Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, strong communication & presentation skills, you will also have an outstanding track record in leading and managing people.
We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible and we just ask that you complete our online application form providing further information against just a couple of specific questions. You are also welcome to attach your CV, if you have one to further support your application.
