Melton Borough Council
Up to £48,500 p.a
Melton Borough Council, Burton Street, Leicestershire, LE13 1GH
14/05/2018 at 12:00 PM
With a new Chief Executive and Management Team in place, Melton Borough Council is facing the future with renewed vigour and confidence.
As one of the smaller borough councils, Melton has always punched above its weight, and we are ambitious to further enhance the quality of life for everyone in the borough and create sustainable, prosperous and vibrant communities.
Following a review of the senior management structure, we are now looking to appoint a new Place and Regeneration Manager to help drive forward the work of the newly formed Growth and Regeneration Directorate and play a lead role in developing the Council’s commercial and place shaping aspirations.
In this influential role, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering a range of key ‘place shaping’ activities including regeneration, housing strategy, economic and business development, tourism and town centre management.
Melton has many amazing assets, with good transport links and a well deserved reputation as a rural ‘capital of food’. We need to make the most of our potential and bring further growth and high quality jobs to the borough.
As Place and Regeneration Manager, you’ll support the newly appointed Director and work with the LLEP, local businesses and public sector partners. You’ll have ample opportunity to make your mark and hone your professional skill set across a broad range of development projects and regeneration schemes.
This is an ideal time for you to join us. You will take a lead role in the establishment of a Town and Place partnership, together with the development of a new strategic plan to help re-energise the town centre and bring further prosperity and growth to the borough.
You will need to be an agile and flexible thinker, with a background in regeneration or economic development. You’ll provide expert advice and guidance, leading on the development and implementation of significant regeneration and housing projects that help put Melton firmly on the map as a great place to live, visit and do business.
Melton resides in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside. Its town centre Melton Mowbray, is a quintessential English market town built on a strong tradition of farming. Renowned for its fine food and drink, the borough has become the centre of excellence for local food producers.
The town itself is steeped in history and has much to offer all those that choose to live, work or visit here.
At Melton Council, we are firmly committed to promoting a vibrant and sustainable economy, focused on growth and prosperity. Working for us, you will find a great sense of community in which we work together towards achieving the council’s shared objectives and which ensures our customers are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll also enjoy an excellent range of benefits and family friendly working policies. These include flexi time with no core hours, agile working arrangements which enables multi-site and home working, generous leave entitlement, a full week off at Christmas, Local Authority Pension Scheme and a clear commitment to training and your continued development.
We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible and we just ask that you complete our online application form providing further information against just a couple of specific questions. You are also welcome to attach your CV to further support your application.
